Programme Structure
Rotations
Graduates will spend approximately 15 weeks in the Eagle Technology GIS Technical Support and Technical Solutions Teams respectively. As they progress through the programme, graduates will also shadow a Technical Advisor and a Managed Services team member.
Training & Development
The programme combines formal learning, practical application, and ongoing development opportunities. You will begin with foundational training and build your skills through instructor-led courses and practical challenges.
- Attend the Geospatial Accelerated Learning Programme (GALoP)
- Complete the ArcGIS Enterprise: Configuring a Base Deployment course
- Participate in the ArcGIS Enterprise: Administration Workflows course
- Multiple 3 to 5 day long challenges scattered throughout the graduate programme designed to build upon and reinforce the knowledge graduates gain through GALoP and instructor led courses.
- Access to eLearning resources on the Esri Academy to fill in any gaps in knowledge
Key Skills
A graduate in our programme will gain the following skills:
- An understanding of core ArcGIS products
- A solid awareness of essential IT principles, including databases, security, and web services,
- A familiarity with how to leverage ArcGIS and related technologies to design and implement solutions that address real-world business challenges
- An improved capability to deliver clear, effective presentations or demonstrations
- The ability to work directly with clients to understand and document their business needs
- A strengthened ability to work within a team focused on developing technical solutions or resolving issues
- Improved verbal and written communication skills to effectively support customers and ensure a positive user experience.
- The ability to systematically identify and diagnose technical problems with software
- Strengthened analytical and critical thinking skills to approach and resolve issues in GIS environments.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Degree Requirements
Graduates are expected to have a Bachelor degree at a minimum.
Graduation Window
Applicants must have graduated within one year prior to the start date of the graduate programme intake or be on track to graduate between the application closing date and the programme start date.
Work Rights
Graduates must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident or hold a valid New Zealand Work Visa.

Selection Process
- Once applications have closed, we will review all applications.
- Following this review, shortlisted candidates must complete a short video interview
- Candidates who progress to the next stage will attend a final round interview via a virtual meeting. This is an opportunity to tell us about yourself and what you like to do outside of university, explain why you want to join Eagle Technology and respond to behavioural-based interview questions.
- Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email.
- We will contact successful candidates by phone. We will then complete reference checks before sending you a formal offer.
Our graduates commence in either early February or Late June, depending on the intake you are part of.

Salary Information
NZ$63,000 – 66,000 / Year.

While Eagle Technology can not guarantee a permanent role at the end of the programme graduates can apply for any open positions that are available. Do Eagle Technology offer flexible or remote working?
At the start of your graduate program, you are expected to work on-site at the Eagle Technology Wellington Office. This arrangement aims to facilitate your integration into the company and foster healthy, strong relationships with colleagues. After an appropriate period, you will have the option to work from home up to two days a week.
