Course Logistics

I have received an order email. What is this email for?

The order email confirms the course you are registered on and the price of the course. If any applicable discounts are not automatically applied, the order will be updated and sent to the Eagle Technology accounts department for final invoice creation.

Please note, the order email is NOT an invoice. You or your organisation will receive the course invoice upon course completion, unless otherwise requested.

When do I receive course details?

After registering, you will receive a registration acknowledgement email containing basic information about your course including the course name and course date and time. Once the course meets the minimum required number of learners, you will receive another email with more detailed course instructions. Additionally, you will receive two reminder emails: one seven days before the course and another the day before the course commences.

 

If you’re attending an Instructor-Led course in the virtual environment, you will receive a calendar invitation with the Microsoft Teams link included to access the virtual classroom.

Do I have to download anything before starting a virtual course?

Only the student manual. All the course data and software will be available via the virtual machines we deploy for the duration of your course.

Do I need to install anything before starting the course?

No. All the course data and software will be available via the virtual machines we deploy for the duration of your course.

Before you attend the a course virtually, you should check if you can connect to our virtual machine environment by running the test at https://eagletechnology.heropa.com/test. If you can not load this page or receive errors upon running the test, please contact us at gistraining@eagle.co.nz.

What time do courses start?

Courses start at 9am New Zealand local time and generally finish between 4:30 and 5pm.

After completing a course, do I get a certificate?

Yes, if you attended a standard Instructor-Led Course. If you have yet to receive your certificate within six weeks from course completion, please contact gistraining@eagle.co.nz. We do not issue certificates for customised Instructor-Led courses.

Course Recommendations

I am new to GIS, what course should I take?

We recommend the Introduction to GIS using ArcGIS course if you would like to attend an Instructor-Led course. If you would like some recommendations for eLearning please contact gistraining@eagle.co.nz

I would like to learn how to use ArcGIS Pro, what course should I take?

We recommend the ArcGIS Pro: Essential Workflows course. This course does have some pre-requisites. If you would like to discuss whether you meet these please contact gistraining@eagle.co.nz

I have hired an emerging spatial professional and want to quickly get them up to speed with the ArcGIS Platform. Which training option would be the best fit?

We recommend the Geospatial Accelerated Learning Programme (GALoP). A six-week programme that has been developed to quickly bring emerging spatial professionals up to speed with the use and application of the latest geospatial technology.

Is it possible to arrange a standard instructor-led course for our staff?

Yes. We understand the value of having a course hosted specifically for your staff. A client exclusive course creates a space for open and honest discussions, enabling your team to directly apply the learnings to your organisation’s workflows and processes. Course Types

What is a Hybrid Instructor-Led Course?

If learners are split between the virtual classroom and the physical classroom for the same scheduled Instructor-Led Course the Eagle training team refers to this as a Hybrid Instructor-Led Course.

What is an Instructor Assisted Learning Lab?

An Instructor Assisted Learning Lab allows you to select a course from a list of instructor-led options and attend it at the Eagle Technology Wellington Education Centre. You will share the education centre with others who may be taking the same course or a different one. You will follow a pre-recorded lesson delivered by an expert instructor, work on course exercises using a dedicated virtual machine, and have an on-site instructor available to assist whenever needed. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with other learners during shared break times.
